
On Sunday, December 2, 2007, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, the public is invited to experience the historic rooms of the Courthouse Museum decorated for Christmas. Christmas trees decorated by schools, businesses, and community organizations. This year, Beverly Evans and her grandson will again showcase their winter village. It is a display of miniature townspeople, sparkling lights, darling figurines, and beautiful scenery celebrate winter and Christmas.

At the open house, join us for music, treats, and our traditional Courthouse Eggnog. Live entertainment will be performed by Central Presbyterian Church Handbell Choir (1:00 - 1:20), Flute Music by the Students of Sandra Stocking (1:30 - 1:50), Harmony Valley Chorus (2:00 - 2:20), Golden Notes (2:30 - 2:50), Merced High School Choir (3:00 - 3:20), and Christmas Music by Maxwell Norton & Friends (3:30 - 3:50). The event is free to the public and the Courthouse Museum is located at 21st and N Streets, Merced.
Teachers are reminded that the museum will be open Monday through Friday mornings throughout December for walk-through tours. This is a wonderful way to introduce your class to the museum. Call the museum office at (209) 723-2401. Join us for a great way to begin the holiday season!
For holiday gifts, please visit our Museum Store. On December 16, Merced County Historical Society will release a new publication entitled Le Grand History: Memories of Le Grand History Club. Regular hours for the Merced County Courthouse Museum and its store are Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00-4:00 pm.
